Well, here we are. New year, new decade and all that jazz. I had a pretty rough 2009, so I am determined to make the best out of 2010. No more sitting at home feeling sorry for myself. No more pining away for lost love. No more living in the land of "what ifs" and "well, if I had done this...". None of that. Get on with life!!
I thought I was going to spend New Year's alone, but then my friend chatted with me on facebook and invited me to a cheap party up in Saratoga. It was really fun and I actually ended up seeing one of my fellow derby fresh meat girls there!! Kangaroo Meat Skewer was there with her girlfriend and a bunch of other friends. How funny is that?! So, we all rang in the New Year together, and even though I didnt' get my New Year's kiss, it was alright.
The next day, I went down to NYC to reprise my role as Yitzhak in my Hedwig shadowcast troupe, The Midnight Checkout Queens. If you don't know what a shadowcast is, it's where you act out the movie in front of the screen, a la Rocky Horror. We were performing at the Brooklyn Museum which meant hauling all of our stuff out there, which was quite the adventure. It was a lot of fun though, we hadn't done the show in over 2 years so it was really nice to see everyone again.
So far, I'm doing a pretty good job updating this thing on a regular basis. *knock on wood* Ofcourse, now that I've said that, it'll probably be a year and a half until I update again!! hehehe Until next time, blogosphere.

Job Update
I am now in the middle of my third week here at my new job and it's pretty interesting.
I haven't really seen that many patients yet, and I'm getting the feeling that I'm not going to have a huge daily case load anyway. Probably around 5-6 patients at the most on any given day will be the max, plus any prior approvals for supplements that I have to call into pharmacies.
That part is probably the most time consuming part of my job right now. A lot of the patients here are on Medicaid or ADAP and therefore require prior authorization numbers if they are prescribed an oral supplement like Ensure or Boost. These charts get forwarded to me, then I have to fill out a form, call the Medicaid automated number, enter all sorts of numbers and then get the prior authorization number. Then I have to mail the presciption, with the authorization number written on the top of it, to the patients' pharmacy. It's not really that hard, just really time intensive.
Other than that, I pretty much just do same out outpatient counseling I was doing in my old job. A lot of education stuff. I'm trying to get all the patients that weren't seen by the previous dietitan here by putting my name on the list to see them when they come in for their doctors appointments. Some come, some don't. Some just want to get out of here as fast as possible. I think things will be a bit easier when I am set up in the scheduling system, so I can schedule my own appointments and/or see when patients are coming back for their follow up appointments so I can catch them then.
Wow, was that boring enough for ya? ;) Sorry but that's how exciting my life is!! hehehe
I was just down in the city though (my first trip down there since I moved) to do Hedwig Friday and Saturday night so that was pretty nice. A bit of drama went down, and I wasn't able to do much else in the city other than the shows since I was so tired on Saturday from the Friday night show, then I left Sunday morning. Hope I can get down there again soon and actually get to do something, hang out with my friends, etc. :)
Until next time, kiddies!! :)

Weekend Shenanigans
Whooo!!! This weekend was fun times, lemme tell ya!!
Friday and Saturday night doing Hedwig with my best gal by my side. Good times. :)
Went to go see Jackass 2 on Sunday. Quite possibly the stupidest movie ever (I don't know, I didn't see the first Jackass movie), but it was amusing. Though I did have to draw the line at the "leach on the eye" thing.
And I was late to work this morning. Fortunately my boss knew about my fun filled weekend coming up and she wasn't surprised by my late entry at 8:40am this morning (supposed to be there at 8am).
All in all, it was a pretty eventful weekend. And I got to see mi amor for the first time in three weeks!! Next weekend we're making the trek up to Maine to visit my parents...that should be exciting. ;) Anywho, at least I'll get to spend a little more time with my love and not have to be rushing around doing Hedwig crap. ;)
I'll post pics once I get 'em!! :)
